Two New Ideas I learned about Ancient Rome....
  • Students used metal pens (stylus) to scratch on a tablet of wood coated with wax.
  • Most childrendid not go to school, parents had to pay for education and they only allowed boys to be schooled
One Navigational Strategy I used to locate information was....
  • I looked for the larger typed words
  • I looked at the general layout of the site, most of the time it lists everything in categories

One Reliable Source of information about a topic....
  • I looked on the site to find information about where there sourced originated from. It was usually listed on the top or the bottom of the site. I looked on a site called BBC.co.uk/schools/romans/families. I felt this was reputable because it is a new channel British Broadcasting Company
One Informational Feature I found useful and developmentally appropriate for fourth graders studing this topic was....
  • The BBC site was very easy to navigate through and listed information in a basic way that I feel would interest fourth graders. The information is useful to them because it talks about what life was like for these children which is a motivating factor for children to know what it was like back then and what it would be like if they lived in that time.
